It has been a while since i started this project.
Due to many other priorities it was halted.
Now i restarted it and planning to finish it this time.
Es ist schon eine Weile her, seit ich dieses Projekt gestartet habe.
Aufgrund vieler anderer Prioritäten wurde es gestoppt.
Jetzt habe ich es neu gestartet und plane, es dieses Mal zu beenden.
It's time for pruning

I really hate this....[emoji33][emoji33][emoji33]
I love the corals, i love the many species, i love the beauty of it all, i love the growth/growthrate.
But the one thing i hate is pruning and the aftermath....
- I hate the work involved.
- I hate it that the tank look like sh@t in the weeks/months after.
- I hate lobbying with the cuttings.
How do you guys deal with excessive growth?

It has been a while since my last posting.
Summertime is my time for outdoorsports and activities.
The reefs are cruising on autopilot and i regularly clean the windows/skimmer/powerfilter and fill up the dosing containers. Nothing exciting...
While working on my rooftop is had a surprise visit from some german reefing friends.
They were totaly surprised by the growthrate of my EZ550reef and posted this movie.

ZitatHoi Glenn,
your photos gave me the inspiration to use DSR in my little aquarium too.
I am very satisfied.
Thanks for your postings here where I became aware of your System.
Johannes
Thanks johannes
Nice to have inspired you to reef like most dutch do. Once you get the system, you understand why i rolled it out to the reefing community. IMO it's the way we all should be reefing in the future. It's logical, practical and saves resources. Making the hobby more sustainable for most aquarist.

ZitatHi Glenn!
You have awesome tanks and a really crazy growth!
What setup do you have with your Ureef LED ? Still happy with it?
Greetz!
Thanks reefing is my passion. I believe when you put your heart and soul into things you do you rise above average.
My Ureef has been finished yet. I think your refering to my frag700reef.
The lighting up till now was experimental.
Now i will be targeting 50/50 led/T5
Corals are doing fine with this setup
I only need to experiment wit some more white light for my own pleasure

It's been a while ago that i posted on forums.
It seems like i lack inspiring material.
Beside that, the warmer the season becomes the more my attention shifts towards my other hobbies.
I am very passionate about many things that involves toys with speed and engines.

How fast do coral grow?
In this timelime you can see how a small frag of the staghorn coral has grown up to the surface, cut down and again grew back to the surface within a few months.

I was quite annoyed bij the histrix
To much work cleaning the front window also space, flow and light limitation due to this massive coral.
It was time for a small rescape.

Another set op top down pictures
The coral are interweaved into each other.
By letting them sort it oit themselves you get a very natural look.
